![]() When I was test driving B6/7's I did find that almost 100% of them had a vibration around 2K so I am thinking that it is "normal". Anyhow there are times that at exactly 2K RPM (+/- 50 RPM) that I get a slight vibration but there are also times that I get no vibration.very weird. ![]() The PO had the clutch replaced at 53K (couple thousand miles before we purchased it) and I know the FW was replaced but I am not sure if they upgraded to the B7 DMFW or stuck with the B6 DMFW. It went up and down with the throttle both in gear at speed and in neutral.'04 S4 here and I experience the same thing. Tires need to be replaced but it was not an out of balance shake. Guys at the shop said that if it really was the flywheel then it would be a consistant shake and not intermittnet. It happened once on the track too but went away after cool down. But by the time I got it to the shop the problem had gone away. Is is possible to hav intermitent flywheel failure? I had what I would swear was a flywheel problem the other day. If you have any questions feel free to give us a call! Those are just a few of the reason why upgrading to our JHM Lightweight Flywheel and Clutch Combo can benefit you. 3) Stage 3 and 4 Clutch Discs are very streetable and do not compromise daily driveability, and 4) If you are not tracking or beating on your car, this setup will outlast an OEM setup. 2) Does not feature a failure prone dual-mass setup. 1) Our Lightweight Flywheel costs less than OEM. We still recommend going with our Lightweight Flywheel and Clutch Combo for a few reasons. I know most people recommend the JHM Stage 3/4 kit with LWFW but I do not plan on tracking the car or anything like that nor do I want the chatter and wanted to gain peoples thoughts on a OEM b7 flywheel and a stage 3/4 clutch kit.Īlso, since I know many people have done the upgrade, would any B7 owners happen to have a OEM B7 Flywheel kicking around?therealet23. Sometimes the vibration lessens after a spirited run (but it always comes back). No CELs, car runs and has power though it just vibrates (what could be perceived as a misfire) from the drivetrain and through out the RPMs whether in neutral or driving. My 2004 S4 (85k) has what I believe is the dreaded flywheel failure. And lastly we all know someone can sell it for cheaper if they are willing to make a smaller profit and some places are just cheaper to make a product.ĭid someone say something bad about TTV? Because I am not sure what you'r mad about.I am new to the b6 s4 world (though I did have 2 b5's in the past). Our flywheels are dynamically balanced and incorporate an integral ring gear for high rpm safety. ![]() CNC machined in our UK based factory from forged chrome moly steel. ![]() Prices are effected by material costs and labor cost to have them machined but I am sure you already know that. From single seaters to drag racing, we do it all. Clutch Masters has their flywheels made in bulk so they tend to have them in stock ready to go. The CM flywheel for the 2.7t and 1.8t both have the ring gear machined into the flywheel itself instead of attaching one after the fact. Now that's a service.īecause most of all those shops have their flywheels machined right here in the states, most of them right at Aascc in Southern California. If I remember right it was 40 pounds extra for any alterations you want to basic model and they will turn it for you within two days. ![]() The irony is that if you order TTV today, you will have it in your hands literally in two days (they ship with Fedex express 2-day included in price!), while other US options you'll have to wait for a while if you choose ground or pay extra 100$ (due to weight) to have it shipped with faster option but who knows if they have these in stock anyway.Īnd.if you talk to Ben at TTV and want it heavier/ligther, different pins, different step up, he will do it for you. Last time I was in EU, it is not China and to make stuff over there it actually costs money, most of times more than in US, no kids turning lathes there! Ok, explain to me then why CM, southbend, other options in US for a billet steel FW are $700+ and I can get, in my opinion better item since it is truly one piece FW unlike others that still have a screw on starter ring at least, but this stuff shipped from UK is so much less. ![]()
